Why this made the list

The Core 300 covers a bedroom well, but it's not built for a bigger living room or open floor plan. The Core 600S is the version of that same line scaled up for larger spaces, with the app and smart-assistant control the smaller model doesn't offer. Independent testing puts its realistic coverage well below Levoit's own marketed square footage, which is worth knowing before you buy it expecting to cover a number that large.

What it actually does

It uses a 3-stage filter setup, a pre-filter, activated carbon layer, and a particle filter bonded together as one piece, rated by AHAM CADR at roughly 375-400 cfm depending on the pollutant measured. Levoit markets it for large rooms using its own square footage math, but independent testing puts realistic coverage closer to 550-600 square feet at a proper air-change rate, still a meaningful step up from a bedroom-sized unit like the Core 300. Sleep mode runs quiet, under 40 dBA by independent measurement, but it gets noticeably louder at higher fan speeds, into the low 60s dBA at maximum. It connects to the Levoit app and Alexa for scheduling and remote control, on top of physical controls on the unit itself.

Who this is actually for

Larger bedrooms, open living spaces, or anyone who outgrew a smaller single-room purifier and wants app or voice control on top of more coverage. It's not meant for whole-house filtration.

What to weigh before buying

The verdict

A capable step up from the Core 300 for bigger rooms, with real app and Alexa control, but go in expecting less coverage than the marketed number and a real ongoing filter cost.
